20-20 cricket......
People are going gaga over india recent success in 20-20.but this success in nothing in the face of the failures of indian cricket team.by winning a single match people are getting richer by five figure sum.people are making the senoir players the scape goat that they are not performing and whole lot of things.but they are overlooking the performance of the so called young turks who are said to be the future of indian cricket.the people are in the daze of 20-20 cricket.if they notice that the old guns have only helped india win those 2 matches that india won.the slam bang manner in which the juniors played showed that they are going for attractive 30-40 runs, rather than playing a true great inninigs.LOOOKING at austalian system where people only join the gold-green brigade only when they are nearing 30.why india has failed to create such a pool of talent is donot command any reasonable explanations

Tend to agree with you that too much is being made out of success in Twenty20.
Your also correct in saying that the seniors had a hand in those two wins.
However, I disagree with you when you say that the Juniors seem satisfied with flash -bang innings of 30s and 40s.
As the seniors used up a fair chunk of overs to fatten their ICC rankings, our juniors were left with no other recource.
Well to be true being ga-ga is something else being realistic is something else....
We won yesterday's match so easily that it didn't seem as if we were seeing the same Indian Cricket team as that in the ODIs..
And Hats off to you if you are saying that Saurav's duck helped India win the last match, or Sachin's 22 and then the irresponsible shot... It was Utthapa's steady 47 that helped India consolidate.
Also lets look back...well in the Chandigarh ODI I agree that Sachin made 61 but dont forget how many balls he took and how he threw his wicket away. And then who contributed the necessary runs?? Utthappa (again) and Dhoni.
As Ottayan said the seniors are hogging up the overs just fill up record books.
All the above things said and talked about...its not that as if I'm Anti Sachin ...I have been and will always be a Sachin fan..and that isnt gonna change!
On the system thing...first of all lets see the physiological factor.
Australian climatic conditions and physical conditions make'em physically far superior than the people of the subcontinent. so ur age 30 thing is accounted for.
Further, yes I do agree that our system of cricket is weak and lets face it its not gonna change much in the yrs to come.
So lets take initiative and be in the governing body the BCCI in the future and resolve the probs!
cheers!!
nice blog though buddy!
@kvhurin you have written a good blog in my comment.i hope it will increase the no of visit to the blog.
considering your reply i would like u to go through the entire english summers and this series.
building ininigs is one thing but finishing it is other.early on when the batsmen fail the result is before us.rohit sharma the hero of 20-20 world cup failure in the first match itself points to the fact
u know what Sultan, my magic has started to work...u've got a visit from UK!!!!
nice new look
btw Sultan...do change the name of my blog to My Reflections...thx
Sultan, I think, at least partly, the "ga-ga" is justified. Yes, there has been a lot of hype but credit must be given where it is due. The 20-20 win and Dhoni's captaincy has brought spirit in the team; they were actually fighting in some instances, particularly in the Nagpur ODI, and that was heartening to see. There was dignity in defeat. That to me is a good headway made by the team that was burdened by the Caribbean World cup debacle, intra-team controversies the and what not.
I agree with you on the contribution of the seniors. But the difference between the Aussie 30+ guys and the Indians is that the Aussie seem to be more fit. What is required is to find a balance between the young guns who dont seem to care about their records and experienced folks who do.
I simply agree wholeheartedly with minerva
Something to say?
